A 33-year-old Mobile man has died from injuries suffered when he was struck by a vehicle last week.

Mobile police reported Wednesday that Jerel Tubb had died at an area hospital, a week after the accident on Springhill Avenue.

Officers were summoned to the location, near the intersection with Smith Street, after a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Initial reports indicated Tabb had stepped into the right, westbound lane of Springhill and into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The driver remained on the scene as emergency personnel were called.

Police say the investigation remains open.
