Police are searching for a Mobile man for the murder of a 20-year-old Gautier, Miss., resident.

Gautier police responded to a local gas station Monday afternoon after a report of a shooting. Arriving at the scene, they found the victim — identified as Maurice Shannon — dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

Tuesday, investigators said Thomas Guy Rogers of Mobile was being sought as the primary suspect. They believe Rogers fled back to the Mobile area following the shooting.

Rogers is described as a Black male, 5-10 in height, weighing 155 pounds, with multiple tattoos. He was last seen riding in a white 2019 Honda Accord with an Alabama Wildlife Federation tag: AOR4TM.
