Human remains were found during a law enforcement investigation in Demopolis, police said Monday.

Demopolis police said the remains have yet to be identified but were sent to a lab for identification.

Chief Rex Flowers told WAKA 8 that the remains were found in the Powe Road area of the city during a missing person investigation, but he could not be reached by AL.com to confirm that information.

Demopolis police asked anyone with pertinent information on the case to contact the department’s criminal investigations division at 334-289-3073.
