Looking for a job? Birmingham draws workers from across the state, study shows
People from large metropolitan and rural areas across the state, and in some cases out of the state, are coming to Birmingham by the thousands each year according to a 2022 study compiled by Stacker from Census data.
Representatives for the Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) said this is good news for the region’s economy and attributed the city’s job attraction to diversity in both industry and ways of life.
“One of Birmingham’s biggest assets is the ability to have a sense of community when you live here,” said Trevor Sutton, talent solutions lead for the BBA.
“From young professionals to C-suite executives, we hear it all the time that Birmingham is the best place to make a difference while making a living.
“As a mid-sized metro, Birmingham is big enough to offer all the amenities of a larger market while also offering the accessibility of a small community. Whether you prefer urban, suburban or rural neighborhoods, you can live where you want to and still be a short drive away from great schools, greenspaces, award-winning restaurants, an international airport and so much more.”
