Body of missing Tallapoosa County woman, 34, found near a home in Macon County, authorities say

An investigation is underway after the body of a 34-year-old woman reported missing Friday from Tallapoosa County was found Monday near a home in Macon County, authorities said.

The body of Sandra Elaine Taylor, of Jackson’s Gap, was found on Macon County Road 43, said Jacksons’ Gap Police Chief Jeremy Hamlett.

Taylor’s body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery as part of the State Bureau of Investigation’s investigation into her death, Hamlett said.
