Man wounded in Bessemer shooting crashes into house

A man was seriously injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Bessemer.

The shooting happened just after 3 p.m. in the 2900 block of Fairfax Avenue. More than two dozen shots were fired.

Lt. Christian Clemons said the driver was shot while in a car, and then crashed into a house.

He was taken to UAB Hospital. His injuries are serious.

The suspects fled the scene in another vehicle. No arrests have been made.
