Morgan Wallen miffed, boots fan who threw drink at him during show in Australia

Morgan Wallen’s fans had better mind their manners during his concerts. The country star ejected an audience member from his Saturday show in Melbourne, Australia, after someone threw a full cup of liquid at him on stage.

The incident, immortalized in a TikTok video, was first reported by Billboard. “A spokesperson for Wallen confirmed that a cup of liquid was thrown on stage and that the person who tossed it was removed from the venue,” the report says.

A fan video from the show, posted on Saturday by Chloe Donovan, shows a spray of liquid near the star (and some side-eye from Wallen) as he sings “Everything I Love.” The text accompanying Donovan’s video said, “Who threw (their) drink at this gorgeous man. #morganwallen #kickedout #angry.”

Donovan — who appeared to be in close proximity to the stage at the Rod Laver Arena — also posted a video that shows Wallen angrily addressing the crowd, saying, “Go ahead. One of y’all own up to it or I’m gonna kick your whole f—in’ group out. One of y’all go ahead and say ‘I did it.’ All right, kick that kid out of here then.”

Before Wallen boots the offender, the audience can be heard shouting, “Kick them out! Kick them out!”

Wallen, 29, is touring on “One Thing at a Time,” a new double album that’s held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart for three weeks in a row. The country star has been known to eject misbehaving fans — kicking out a concertgoer, for example, who was fighting during a show in fall 2022 at the at Toyota Amphitheater in California.

Wallen has his own history of rowdy behavior, and has gotten into trouble in the past because of his party-hearty ways. In May 2020, the singer was arrested outside Kid Rock’s bar in downtown Nashville and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct, according to USA Today.

At the time, Wallen said he and his friends were “horseplaying,” using social media to explain. “We didn’t mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected,” Wallen said in a tweet. “Thank you to the local authorities for being so professional and doing their job with class.”

Wallen also discussed his arrest that year with radio host Bobby Bones. “I think I’ve built kind of a reputation for being a little bit rowdy and maybe even rambunctious at times,” Wallen said. “Usually it’s fun-loving.” When pressed by Bones for details, Wallen said, “I’m going to be completely honest, the whole night is pretty fuzzy to me.”
