Luxury apartments open in $200 million Huntsville development

Progress at a $200 million development in Huntsville has reached a milestone with the opening of a luxury apartment community.

The Kelvin is a 301-unit complex at Upland Park, which is under construction in west Huntsville on Enterprise Way near Cummings Research Park. The development will also include senior and multi-family living as well as an office/retail component.

Nicol Investment Co. of Nashville is the developer while The Kelvin will be managed by RAM Partners of Atlanta.

“We are thrilled to begin welcoming the first residents to The Kelvin in Upland Park,” Kyle Burkett, managing director of asset management for Nicol, said in the announcement. “It is an excellent addition to west Huntsville, offering an elevated apartment experience with the conveniences of urban living and easy access to major employment centers.”

The Kelvin was designed by JHP of Dallas and includes floor plans with one, two and three bedrooms. It also includes garages with electric vehicle charging stations and office workspaces.

“RAM Partners is excited to be working with NIC on another outstanding community,” said Brenda Lindner, Executive Vice President and Managing Partner, RAM Partners. “We are committed to taking care of the people who call The Kelvin home and exceeding the expectations of everyone involved. The entire project is awe-inspiring.”

Vitality at Upland Park, a 189-unit senior care project, is also open while HQ – the 80,000 square feet office/retail building – is about halfway completed. Still to come is The Collins, a 334-unit luxury multifamily community.

The community has a contemporary clubhouse with a social lounge, an on-site beer garden, a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center complimented by a yoga/flex studio with Echelon Bikes and a saltwater pool with a sundeck and outdoor grilling stations.
