A man from Winston County died in a crash on Sunday morning.

State troopers identified the man as 69-year-old Ricky A. Frost, of Houston.

Frost was driving a Jeep Cherokee that left Alabama 33 and hit a tree just before 9:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Jeremy J. Burkett, a spokesman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The crash happened about five miles north of Double Springs. Frost was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene, Burkett said in a news release.

Troopers will continue to investigate.
