North Alabama man accused of stealing $35,000 from elderly person

A Morgan County man has been charged with first degree financial exploitation of an elderly person.

The sheriff’s department said investigators arrested Graham Christian Selva, 26, of Somerville on Wednesday. He was also charged with third degree domestic violence-harassment.

Selva is being held in the county jail on $36,300 bond.

The arrest came after an investigation that began March 19, when money was reported missing from an 81-year-old person’s financial account, according to court records.

Investigators say transactions moved about $35,000 from one person’s account to a CashApp account belonging to Selva, a family member.

According to court documents, Selva told a family member “I got ways to get money,” when asked how he was buying guns.
