The Blazers enter the game at 27-9 overall, tied for the most wins in program history, and rank 10th nationally in scoring offense (81.5 ppg).

— The Commodores answer out of the time out but Tavin Lovan and KJ Buffen grab a pair of free throws each to build an 11-5 lead with a little more than 12 minutes left in the first half.

— UAB 7, Vanderbilt 2 (13:54) | Under-16 timeout: The Blazers have held Vanderbilt to 1-of-12 from the field to open the half and KJ Buffen drains a wide-open 3-pointer to give UAB the 5-point lead.

— Vanderbilt wins the tip and immediately goes on the attack, scoring on a mid-range jumper from Jordan Wright. Following a turnover on its first possession, UAB evens the score on a Ty Brewer layup and takes a 4-2 lead with a skyhook from Trey Jemison.
