A Robertsdale man charged with assaulting a woman earlier this month is now facing accusations he raped the woman’s 11-year-old daughter.

According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a March 10 call of a domestic altercation at the home of David Scott Perez.

Investigating officers learned the incident resulted from allegations by the mother that Perez had sexually abused her daughter.

Both Perez and the mother were injured in the altercation and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The adult female told investigators Perez had physically assaulted her with his fists, choked her and prevented her from calling for assistance. Her statements were all consistent with her injuries, according to the BCSO.

Perez was taken into custody, charged with family aggravated assault/strong arm; domestic violence/strangulation or suffocation; and interference with a domestic violence emergency call.

As the investigation into the sexual assault claims continued, investigators interviewed the 11-year-old girl, who said Perez had sexual contact with her, according to the BCSO.

Following that interview, Perez was charged with first-degree rape, and sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. He was taken into custody after his release from the hospital.

Perez is being held in the Baldwin County Jail under total bond of $40,500 — $25,000 for the rape charge, $5,000 each for the sexual abuse and two domestic violence charges, and $500 for interfering with a domestic violence emergency call.
