Huntsville’s most expensive building projects last week included the $200 million Huntsville Logistics Center near advance manufacturing facilities in southeast Limestone County and a $67 million downtown Huntsville apartment complex.

Last week, 153 permits were issued in the Huntsville area, totaling more than $164.3 million, according to Southern Exposure Information.

Huntsville issued 56 permits for projects totaling $141.8 million. Madison County issued 57 permits for projects totaling $9.7 million. Athens issued 23 permits for projects exceeding $6.3 million. Eight projects were issued permits in Decatur totaling $2.6 million.

Two permits totaling $70 million were issued for the Huntsville Logistics Center at Old Highway 20 and Gunters Way. They were issued to Devin Schuster. Jim Cooper Construction is listed as the builder.

Ground was broken on the facility earlier this month. The two permits are part of the $100 million first phase of the project, which is to be a 2.2 million square foot industrial park not far from the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing facility, the Amazon Fulfillment Center, Polaris and Buffalo Rock.
