Three Alabama men arrested after shots fired at Panama City Beach bar

Three Alabama residents are in the Bay County Jail, facing multiple weapons charges after gunshots were fired outside a Panama City Beach bar Saturday night.

Panama City Beach police responded to a report of shots fired near Longboards Restaurant and Bar around 11:30 p.m., according to a news release.

Police were advised by mutual aids (officers from other agencies) on the scene that gunshots had been heard and the aids had detained three men, identified as Caleb Trosch, Daniel Hunter Jr. and Jason Wheat.

Witnesses told police the men had been arguing inside the bar and the argument spilled out into the parking lot. The shots were reportedly fired as the men were leaving the scene.

“I mean, I just seen everybody running, so I just took off with them,” one witness told mypanhandle.com. “I didn’t know what was going on. But if I see everyone running I’m just following behind them.”

According to the Bay County Jail docket, all three suspects are facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit; improperly discharging a firearm; and discharging a firearm from a vehicle. Trosch is additionally charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

As of Monday morning, all three remained in Bay County Jail awaiting an initial court appearance. Surveillance video from the bar has been obtained and the investigation remains open.
