A man died in a predawn crash in Talladega County after he crashed into a creek.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Robert C. McMillian Jr. He was 67 and lived in Childersburg.

Senior Trooper Reginal King said McMillian was driving a GMC Sierra about 5:25 a.m. Thursday when his truck left the road, struck a culvert and overturned in a creek.

McMillian was airlifted to UAB Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The wreck happened on John Lightsey Lane, about six miles south of Childersburg.

Troopers are investigating.
