Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on I-59 at Roebuck Parkway in Birmingham
A pedestrian was killed late Wednesday in a hit-and-run in east Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim, but said he was an adult white male.
Authorities said the man was walking on the shoulder of Interstate 59 southbound when he was struck by an unknown vehicle at the Roebuck Parkway exit ramp.
The crash happened at 11 p.m., and the man was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:19 p.m.
The motorist who struck the victim fled the scene after the collision.
Birmingham police are investigating.
