Dothan man arrested on sex crimes involving child under 12, police say

A Dothan man was arrested on several sex crime charges involving a child under 12 years old for abuse that took place over years, police said Wednesday.

Dothan police said they were notified of the allegations in January and that the sex crimes against the child “had occurred over the past few years” and involved the same victim.

An investigation was then launched that led to an arrest on Tuesday.

Marlo Antonio Ming, 26, of Dothan, was arrested on two counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old, one count of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree rape, police said Wednesday.

Ming, who had a stolen gun in his possession along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the time of his arrest, was also charged with one count of second-degree receiving stolen property and one count of possession of marijuana.

He was taken to the Dothan City Jail on $156,000, police said.

Further information was not released because of the sensitive nature of the allegations, police said.
