Two people were injured, including a 7-year-old child, after they were shot while in a vehicle early Monday morning in Mobile, police said.

Officers responded to the 6000 block of Lance Court around 12:25 a.m. Monday on a report of a shooting when they found the victims suffering from gunshot wounds, said Cpl. Ryan Blakely.

They were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, Blakely said.

The investigation revealed a vehicle pulled in front of the victims’ car while the occupants of a third vehicle fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
