2-year-old boy fighting for life after Mobile hit-and-run incident
A 2-year-old boy was critically injured in a hit-and-run incident Sunday night in Mobile, police said Monday.
Officers responded around 8:24 p.m. to Hass Avenue near Hemley Avenue on a report of a person struck by a vehicle, said Cpl. Ryan Blakely.
The preliminary investigation into the incident showed the boy ran out into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle that left the scene before officers arrived, Blakely said.
The child was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The investigation was ongoing as of Monday afternoon.
