Developer: $200 million Huntsville Logistics Center will bring 700 jobs to Huntsville area

Officials broke ground Wednesday on a 2.2 million square foot industrial park not far from the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing facility, the Amazon Fulfillment Center, Polaris and other major manufacturers in the Huntsville portion of southeast Limestone County.

Edwin Moss, J.H. Berry & Gilbert executive vice president, said work will be done in phases on the Huntsville Logistics Center at Old Highway 20 and Gunters Way. The park is being built on a more than 132-acre site.

“It’s going to start with two buildings of a phased project,” he said. “The first two buildings will bring over 1 million square feet of modern bulk distribution warehouse.”

Moss said the buildings will be similar to the Amazon facility that could be seen from the site.

“They’ll have ceiling heights of 40 feet clear,” he said. “This investment of over $100 million will be spent in the first phase.”
