A 76-year-old woman died and an 86-year-old man was hurt after the SUV they were in collided with another vehicle Tuesday night in Baldwin County, authorities said Wednesday.

Gail. V. Cooper, 76, of Daphne, was riding in a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe that was struck around 6:50 a.m. by a 2000 Toyota 4Runner on Alabama State Route 141 about a half-mile south of Daphne, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Anna Peoples.

Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Santa Fe, identified as an 86-year-old Daphne man, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

It was unclear whether the driver of the 4Runner was injured.
