$5,000 reward offered for information in 2011 shooting death of pregnant Montgomery woman

A reward is being offered for information in the shooting death of a young pregnant woman killed more than a decade ago in Montgomery.

Arkita Stevenson, 19, was fatally shot April 26, 2011, in the 200 block of Fleming Road. It was about 6:46 a.m. that Tuesday when Montgomery and police and fire medics responded to the scene and found Stevenson dead.

She was nine months pregnant at the time of her death.

“The Stevenson family is searching for answers and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers stands with the family and is asking anyone that has information regarding this senseless death to please come forward,’’ according to Crime Stoppers.

The Montgomery Cold Case Task Force is investigating Stevenson’s death. Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest those responsible.
