Birmingham Squadron hosting corporate networking event Monday with NBA officials at Top Golf

The Birmingham Squadron is hosting a “State of the NBA in Birmingham” event on Monday at Top Golf in Birmingham. The doors open at 5:30 p.m.

This is a corporate networking event, presented by Coca-Cola United, with a chance for members of the community to interact with Squadron and executives with the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans – the Squadron’s parent team in the G League.

Those participating in the event can RSVP here.

Birmingham Squadron, which plays games at Legacy Arena, completed its first season as a member of the NBA’s G-league in 2021-22. The team was named for aviation connections to the city – the 99th Pursuit Squadron (the first all-Black flying squadron in the Air Force) and production of planes during WWII.

The NBA on its website describes the G League as its minor league, “preparing players, coaches, officials, trainers, and front-office staff for the NBA while acting as the league’s research and development laboratory.”

For more information about Monday’s event, call the Birmingham Squadron office at (205) 719-0850.
