Bryce Young height and weight from NFL combine measurements

The years-long mystery is finally over.

Former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young measured 5-foot-10 and 1/8-inch at the NFL scouting combine Saturday, putting an end to speculation about the height of the projected top quarterback in next month’s NFL draft.

Young weighed 204 pounds with a 30 1/2-inch arm length and 9 and 3/4-inch hand size, according to multiple reports.

Alabama had listed its Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at 6-feet and 194 pounds.

“Yeah, I’ve been this size, respectfully, my whole life,” Young said Friday in Indianapolis. “I know who I am. I know what I can do. For me, it’s fair. Everyone can speculate and ask when the questions are necessary. I’m going to continue to control what I can control. I’m going to keep working my hardest to improve myself at the position. I’m confident in myself. I know what I can do. I’m just excited to be at the next level.”

As for his weight, Young said Friday he had hovered around the “200-pound range, and that’s “not too hard to do when you focus on being a professional football player.”

Young was the projected No. 1 overall pick by ESPN’s Mel Kiper entering the week, with Kiper predicting the Chicago Bears trading the pick to the Houston Texans. But another ESPN draft analyst, Todd McShay, said he would be “scared to death” of drafting Young” even though “I would bet on him.”

Perhaps Young’s closest teammate on Alabama, outside linebacker Will Anderson, defended Young’s size when asked about it this week.

“I would say Bryce played in the SEC,” Anderson said. “One of the best conferences in college football. Big defensive tackles, big defensive lineman, big pass rushers and took a lot of hits during his years there. I have all confidence in Bryce Young. If I was in the position to take him, I’m taking him.”

Young opted not to participate in drills at the combine this week but is expected to throw at Alabama’s pro day March 23 in Tuscaloosa.
