History is on the line in several cases today as the Class 5A, 6A and 7A state basketball championships are decided on the final day of the AHSAA finals in Birmingham.

In Class 5A, the Valley boys go for an undefeated season against Charles Henderson. In Class 6A, the Hazel Green girls go for a sixth straight state title. No team — boys or girls — has won six straight title.

The Hoover boys and girls will try to end the day with a rare state championship sweep. Check back frequently for updates, photos and highlights as the 2023 state finals come to a close.
