NFL Combine: How the state’s players performed Thursday

Auburn’s Owen Pappoe told reporters he was “one of the most athletic linebackers in this draft” on Wednesday. On Thursday, Pappoe put his words into action in the measured drills at the NFL Scouting Combine.

With a 4.39-second showing in the 40-yard dash at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Pappoe became the third linebacker since 2000 to run the 40 at the NFL Scouting Combine faster than 4.4 seconds, joining UCF’s Shaquem Griffin at 4.38 in 2018 and Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons at 4.39 in 2020.
