Police are investigating the shooting death of a 50-year-old man who was found in a driveway in the 1500 block of Heron Drive.

According to Mobile police chief Paul Prine, officers responded to the scene about 12:17 a.m. Wednesday after a report of shots fired in the neighborhood.

Officers arriving at the scene found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

No additional information was released as the investigation continues.
