Pregnant Alabama woman, unborn son fatally stabbed; 2 charged
Two people have been charged in the fatal stabbing of a pregnant woman who was reported missing earlier this month.
Darrian Daqwon Kennebrew, 28, and Desiea Driscol, 26, are charged with capital murder in the slaying of 39-year-old Jessica Bean, 5th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Mike Segrest announced Tuesday. Both suspects are from Tallassee.
Bean was last seen alive in Montgomery on Feb. 4, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Her body was recovered near the intersection of County Road 2 and Cross Keys Road in Macon County on Feb. 10, Segrest said.
Charging documents against Kennebrew state Bean was stabbed multiple times. The attack also killed her unborn son.
Documents and authorities say they believe Bean was killed on the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 5. A motive has not been disclosed.
Kennebrew and Driscol are being held without bond in the Macon County Jail.
Segrest said additional charges could be filed. There are not other suspects at this time.
The district attorney said he plans to seek the death penalty in the case.
Those taking part in the investigation included SBI, ALEA, the Macon County Sheriff’s office, the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office, The Montgomery Police Department, the Tallassee Police Department, the Shorter Police Department and the District Attorney’s office of the 5th Judicial Circuit.
