Two people were killed following a head-on collision Monday night in Mobile County near the Mississippi border, authorities said Tuesday.
Johnny G. Jordan, 60, of Oak Vale, Mississippi, was one of the victims killed when the 2000 GMC Sierra pickup he was driving collided head-on with an unidentified SUV around 8:30 p.m. Monday on Highway 98 near the Mississippi border, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Anna Peoples.
Jordan and the other victim — the driver of the SUV who has identity is pending confirmation from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences — were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck about 10 miles west of Semmes, said Peoples.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the accident.
