‘American Pickers’ star Frank Fritz reportedly struggles after stroke
The world has not heard much from former “American Pickers” star Frank Fritz since news broke last year that he had been hospitalized following a stroke.
And there is probably a good reason for that because, according to reports, life has been a struggle for him since.
A report earlier this year said Fritz’s “condition hasn’t improved,” since the stroke, and that “one of Frank’s friends actually filed to be Frank’s temporary guardian and conservator.”
That same report said that Fritz “had to be put in a nursing facility for rehabilitation,” and that the friend is slated to “serve as conservator over Frank’s finances.”
The report said that a court papers said that “because of his stroke, Mr. Fritz’s decision-making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to care for his own safety or to provide for necessities such as food, shelter, clothing or medical care without which physical injury or illness may occur.”
The report says that the court documents also said that Fritz’s “decision making capacity is so impaired that he is unable to make, communicate or carry out important decisions concerning his own financial affairs.”
But that same report said that Fritz had a net worth of $6 million.
A new report, however, says he may be struggling with finances.
The latest report says that a lawyer, appointed to Fritz by a court around the guardianship situation, has now filed a motion to approve his fees.
The report said this comes as Fritz’s faces expenses that “are taking up around $28,292″ a month. That reportedly includes in-home health care that runs Fritz more than $22,000 per month while his yearly income now reportedly is at $60,000.
The good news in the report is that the money the lawyer is asking to be paid is small — just $450 — along with $120 for a court appearance and $150 for reviews.
Also, MidWest Bank, which is reportedly handling Fritz’s affairs, has said it plans to get his assets in order to “start generating” income.
