PFF released its player grades this week for the 2022 season, including the playoffs, and Hill finished as the top player with Alabama football roots for the second season in a row. But unlike last year, when Hill finished 21 spots ahead of any other player from an Alabama high school or college and was one of only three such players on the list, he was the top player by only three spots and 13 of the first 89 positions were filled by players with Alabama football roots.

A West Alabama alumnus, Hill graded as the No. 7 player in the NFL during the 2022 campaign. At No. 10 was Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, a former Alabama standout.

During the 2022 regular season, Hill had 119 receptions for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns. In his first season with the Dolphins, Hill set franchise single-season records for receptions and receiving yards.

Jacobs led the NFL with 1,653 rushing yards in 17 regular-season games in the 2022 season. He scored 12 touchdowns on 340 rushing attempts and caught 53 passes for 400 yards as he also led the NFL with 2,053 yards from scrimmage this season.
