10 top rated walking pads and folding treadmills for at home workouts
With more and more people working from home, folding treadmills and walking pads have become an increasingly popular way to be more active throughout the workday.
When working from home, it can often be hard to get up and moving while also being productive. So, these small, easy-to-store treadmills have seemingly become the perfect solution to this modern-day issue.
However, with the market over-saturated with these products, it can be hard to determine which specific treadmill will not only meet one’s specific needs, but is just worth the general investment.
Walmart and Amazon alike have a great selection of both walking pads and folding treadmills (many which are two in one products).
To narrow down the options, we’ve selected some of the best rated easy storage treadmills that can provide great at home workouts.
Here are our top 10 picks along with a helpful review of each product.
Helpful review: I was surprised at the quality of this treadmill. Lots of additional features. Very heavy and sturdy. Quiet. I also like if I step off while it’s still running the timer, mileage, calorie count all pause even though the belts rolling and resume once I step back on.
It was ordered on a Thursday night and arrived Saturday morning via FedEx. FREE DELIVERY. Walmart is killing Amazon on delivery speed and price. Very pleased.
Only one small thing: The power cord is about 3 feet. That said if the outlet is on the opposite side it’s less than 2′, so positioning can be challenging. Might want to question the seller for an approved 3 prong extension cord (ie: amps etcetera) and order it at the same time.
Helpful review: I was looking for a practical, small treadmill that would be easy to store but would be reliable for daily walking. This is fairly light weight (compared to other treadmills) and easy to set up and control. It breaks down and slips under a bed or in a closet for easy storage. This has been a game changer for my walking habits – rain or shine, hot weather or blizzard you can walk in the secure comfort of your home for as long as you want!
If I were going to change anything about this, it would be to make the handles a little longer so that those who are unstable on their feet would feel more secure. Also worth noting that if you have the handles attached it cannot fold all the way down and therefore will not fit under your bed, but if you don’t need the handles for balance you can leave them off to slip it out of the way.
Helpful review: I was looking for a treadmill with auto incline to keep my training on track before investing in a professional and this treadmill IS IT!! It is much smaller than I expected but it gets the job done. Would be a good fit for a small workout space. Assembly was easy and I was off and running.
Helpful review: This item is smaller than your normal treadmill that’s for sure. Length is shorter. When positioning the handrail it was either a little far back or way to close to me; I wish it would be up right but it has teeth like grips that won’t let me adjust it to my liking. Regardless it’s a good buy and it serves its purpose. I love how compact it is. It’s a good buy!
Helpful review: I was looking for a small treadmill to use both for exercise and while working (with a desk attachment) that wouldn’t break the bank. This product exceeded all of my expectations! It arrived very promptly and was easy to assemble. It’s compact yet stylish. It’s controlled via a small controller and tracks your time and calories.
To my surprise, it also has a built in speaker which is fun and such a nice added benefit at this price point! Also, I’m glad I wasn’t deterred by the review saying you need a 20amp plug to use this- that’s not the case. I plugged into a standard 15 amp outlet and it works just fine. Plug in and go!
Helpful review: I was looking for a walking pad for a very long time and I came upon this one and read the reviews and decided to go ahead and give it a try. I’m happy I did for the price point that I was looking at and making sure that it was quiet and sturdy, and this met all of the requirements I was looking for. It has a remote which is wonderful and you can put it anywhere in front of a desk or in the bedroom just wherever. So glad I purchased this one.
Helpful review: This treadmill is great. It had all the features I was looking for; completely foldable (including the arms) so you don’t have multiple parts to store, less than five inches when folded, if you just put a wooden plank on the arms it can turn into a walking desk. It looks great too, so I have no problem leaving it up in our living room, it’s not an eye sore at all.
The only thing I didn’t like is that it cannot stand up on its own vertically for storage. You can always lean it against a wall but I don’t know if that’s safe. Also it’s quite a heavy piece of equipment so sliding under furniture is not that simple if there is carpet beneath it. It probably slides easier on hard floors but on soft carpet not so much because of its weight.
Helpful review: I bought this to use while working from home. It has multiple speeds and a remote for easy use in desk mode. I watched several YouTube videos to determine which walking pad would suite my needs best. This brand kept being mentioned again and again, so I gave it a shot and I think it definitely lives up to the hype. It is heavy but easy to move around with the wheels. It also is very quiet which was important to me.
Helpful review: Super convenient and the size is great. I use it under my Costco standing desk and it works well. I was nervous because it was the most inexpensive one I found, but it’s great! I’ve walked 30 miles on it in just a few weeks already. Arrived in like three days.
Helpful review: No assembly required. Quick delivery. Low noise level. My work-at-home situation [kitchen island] isn’t ideal for a treadmill, but I’m still hoping I can make this work. This seems like good value for the money.
This machine self-lubricates and has an indicator light to alert user when reservoir should be refilled. This is a nice feature, as I didn’t even know these needed lubrication! And manually adding is something I’m quite certain I wouldn’t do as frequently as required. I didn’t realize there is a power switch, ended up going to YouTube to find out why I couldn’t turn it on!
