Two people were killed early Wednesday in a house fire in Holly Pond.

The fire erupted about 2 a.m. at a residence on County Road 1728.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick identified the victims as Michael Ricky Olinger, 37, and Deborah Veal Olinger, 64.

The bodies of the fatality victims have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy.

Volunteer firefighters from the Holly Pond, Baileyton, Berlin, Joppa and Walter departments responded to the scene, as did the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office and Cullman County sheriff’s deputies.
