A Louisiana man was killed early Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Colbert County, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.

Robert B. McCoin, 67, of Baton Rouge, was critically injured when the 2020 Mitsubishi Outland he was driving collided with a 2013 Volva tractor-trailer on U.S. 72 about seven miles east of Cherokee. The crash happened about 5:08 a.m. McCoin was taken to Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, where he later died.

Jody Steinman, 48, of Senatobia, Miss., was the driver of the tractor-trailer. ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.
