Watch Davante Adams push down cameraman after Raiders loss, apologizes for actions
Davante Adams was as frustrated as anyone after the Las Vegas Raiders’ 30-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, and it played out on social media.
After the game, on his way back to the locker room, the receiver shoved a cameraman to the ground. The acts was caught on camera.
Adams and teammate Hunter Renfrow collided downfield on a fourth-and-1 pass that fell incomplete, essentially ending the game. Adams slammed his helmet down in reaction.
“Before I answer anything else, I want to apologize to the guy — some guy running off the field, and he ran, jumped in front of me when we’re coming off the field and I bumped into him, kind of pushed him and I think he ended up on the ground,” Adams said, per Yahoo!. “I wanted to say sorry to him for that. That was frustration mixed with him running, literally running in front of me, and I shouldn’t have responded that way. But that’s how I initially responded so I want to apologize to him for that.”
He also took to Twitter to apologize.
“Sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game,” he tweeted. “Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran in front of me as I exited that was my reaction, and I felt horrible immediately. That’s not me. MY APOLOGIES man, hope you see this.”
The Las Vegas Raiders were oh-so-close to finally getting the best of the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night. Then a video review overturned a catch by Davante Adams that would have put them in field-goal range, and an ensuing fourth-down throw was incomplete, allowing the Chiefs to escape with a 30-29 victory.
It was the fourth consecutive loss for the Raiders against their biggest nemesis, and their ninth in their last 10 meetings. Derek Carr dropped to 1-8 in his career at Arrowhead Stadium, while Chiefs counterpart Patrick Mahomes improved to 8-1 against their AFC West rivals.
