Brasfield & Gorrie Raleigh office tower project nearing completion

Birmingham’s Brasfield & Gorrie recently celebrated the completion of the concrete exterior at One North Hills, an office tower that is part of the $350 million North Hills Main District Expansion project in Raleigh, N.C.

One North Hills is a 10-story, 266,000-square-foot office tower, featuring ground-level retail and prominent interstate visibility. The overall district includes a new 12-story apartment building and a Restoration Hardware site built where the old North Hills Mall stood, according to WRAL.

Brasfield & Gorrie, serving as general contractor, self-performed 60,000 cubic yards of concrete for the project, one of the largest pours the company has done to date.

Company officials said handling the work in-house gave it more control over the project timeline, while at the same time creating training and career opportunities for employees.

“Our project team has worked hard planning and executing this very logistically challenging project,” Vice President and Division Manager Eric Perkinson said.

The North Hills Expansion project also includes a steel five-story creative office building and a concrete parking deck below the development.

One North Hills Tower is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of this year. Duda|Paine Architect is the project architect.

The overall project is expected to complete in the third quarter of 2024.
