Will this be Alabama’s hottest week of 2025?
Another heat have begins on Sunday in Alabama and could last through mid-week, according to forecasters.
And this week’s temperatures could be some of the hottest so far this summer in many areas.
Heat advisories will be in effect on Sunday for a large part of the state, and forecasters expect more advisories to be issued for Monday through possibly Wednesday.
The National Weather Service expects high temperatures to climb into the mid- to upper 90s in many areas today through at least Wednesday, and there won’t be as many chances for rain for several days.
The combination of air temperatures and Alabama humidity will make it feel hotter, and some spots could see the heat index climb above 110 degrees this week, according to forecasters.
“There is high chance for dangerous heat conditions to continue through Wednesday. This will be a long-duration period of extreme heat conditions with no overnight relief, affecting people and pets without adequate cooling and hydration,” the weather service in Birmingham said in its Sunday forecast discussion.
