‘Naked and Afraid: Apocalypse’ follows franchise alums and rising stars endure a new twist
The brand new survivalist competition series, Naked and Afraid: Apocalypse is set to join the Naked and Afraid franchise with its series premiere on the Discovery Channel Sunday, July 27 at 8/7c.
Those looking to check out the latest installment of the popular franchise can stream the premiere live through Philo (free trial), DirecTV (free trial) or Sling (50% off first month).
What is Naked and Afraid: Apocalypse about?
According to a short blurb on Discovery, Naked and Afriad: Apocalypse will follow twelve survivalists comprised of franchise alums and rising stars as they taken on a “scorched, apocalyptic landscape” where many have failed to survive before.
The season one filming location is now dominated by predators such as lions, leopards, hyenas and hippos, making it a true test for all survivalists brave enough to sign up and show up for the challenge.
With only basic tools, the survivalists must work together in teams to scavenge and repurpose the wreckage of a ghost town, cemetery, junkyard, and an abandoned mine to last 35 days and get back to civilization.
In addition to surviving their brutal and unforgiving environment, the survivalists get to enjoy a twist—one that’s being introduced for the first time ever in Naked and Afraid history—instead of being extracted following their dangerous stint in the unforgiving environment, they must find their own way back to civilization.
Naked and Afraid: Apocalypse season 1 cast
As mentioned above, part of the excitement surrounding the latest installment of the beloved franchise is the meshing of Naked and Afraid alums with newcomers, and it has been announced that the alums joining the season one cast are Steven Lee Hall Jr., Amber Hargrove, and Waz Addy.
Joining the alums are newcomers Miranda Adams, Frank Eytcheson, Wes Harper, Teal Bulthuis, Steven Kelly, Alexa Towersey, Russell Sage, Joseph Prouse and Kelly Roske.
