Las Vegas Raiders sign former Auburn wide receiver

The Las Vegas Raiders signed wide receiver Seth Williams on Tuesday, one day before the NFL team will hold its first practice of training camp.

A former Paul Bryant High School and Auburn standout, Williams signed with the Raiders after a Tuesday workout for the team.

Williams has played in two NFL regular-season games. Both came in 2021 with the Denver Broncos. Williams had joined the Broncos that year in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.

Williams spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad. In 2024, Williams spent the final 13 weeks of the season on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad.

The Cowboys waived Williams on May 7, and he signed with the United Football League’s DC Defenders five days later.

Williams had eight receptions for 63 yards and one touchdown in two regular-season games and three receptions for 107 yards and one touchdown in two playoff games as the Defenders won the league championship.

The Raiders return their top two wide receivers from last season – Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker – and used a second-round draft pick on TCU wide receiver Jack Bech.

Las Vegas will kick off its three-game preseason schedule on Aug. 7 against the Seattle Seahawks.
