55-year-old woman killed in hit-and-run on Interstate 65 in Birmingham
A woman was found dead in a hit-and-run on Interstate 65 at Interstate 59/20.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday identified the victim as Laronda Jo Pyles. She was a 55-year-old Birmingham woman.
Pyles was pronounced dead on the interstate at 5:56 a.m. Monday. Authorities said they do not know when she was struck.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the driver did not stop.
Birmingham police are investigating.
