Cincinnati Bengals waive former Auburn offensive lineman

Guard Tashawn Manning was scheduled to report to the Cincinnati Bengals’ training camp on Tuesday. But he doesn’t need to now. The NFL team waived the former Auburn lineman on Sunday.

Manning spent the 2024 season on the Bengals’ practice squad without appearing in a regular-season game.

That duplicated his 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens.

Manning had joined the Ravens as an undrafted rookie from Kentucky in 2023.

Manning committed to Auburn as a defensive tackle in 2016. But as a senior in high school, Manning was diagnosed with leukemia. After undergoing eight months of chemotherapy, he enrolled at Auburn in 2017 and redshirted that season.

After switching to guard, Manning played in the next four seasons. In 2020, he became a starter. But Manning chose to transfer after starting only three games under new coach Bryan Harsin in 2021.
