Watch Katie Britt chew out a Democrat on the Senate floor before Epstein discussion
U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala. was filmed in a Senate session on Thursday in what appears to be an intense argument with Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn.
In a video posted to X by Business Insider’s Bryan Metzger, Britt can be seen passionately gesturing to Murphy pointing her finger at his face several times.
Metzger said that the exchange lasted at least ten minutes prior to Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz. bringing forward his resolution to demand the Trump administration release files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“Unclear what it’s about,” Metzger wrote.
“But Britt is the chair and Murphy is the ranking member on the Homeland Security Subcommittee of the Approps [appropriations] Committee, and it’s approps season, so perhaps something related to that?”
Efforts to reach Britt’s office for comment were not immediately successful.
Former congressman Matt Gaetz posted to X Friday in support of Britt, writing, “Every woman I know from Alabama has this gear.”
“Good for [Britt].”
Scott Buttram of The Trussville Tribune also took the Alabama senators side, writing, “My money is on Britt,” in a post to X.
“In a battle of common sense, Murphy is unarmed,” he wrote.
