‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect sought in deadly Montevallo shooting
Authorities are searching for a suspect in the weekend shooting death of a man at a gathering in Montevallo.
Corey Antwon Broadnax, 33, of Hueytown is charged with murder, Montevallo police announced Monday. He is charged in the slaying of 45-year-old Shante Hudson.
Authorities said the shooting happened shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday at the gathering on Melton Street.
Police arrived on the scene to find Hudson, of Bessemer, had been shot multiple times. He was taken to Shelby Baptist Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police said Broadnax was last seen driving a 2002 blue Saturn SL1 which could display license plate 1A0YDHM or 1FB4166. They said Broadnax should be considered armed and dangerous and cautioned the public not to approach him.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Montevallo Investigator Dustin Gray at 205-665-1264.
