New Alabama commit EJ Crowell has a clear message for 2 other top in-state stars
Jackson running back EJ Crowell had two words for Alabama fans Thursday night.
“Roll Tide,” he said.
He had a few more words for the other top two senior recruits in the state of Alabama, Benjamin Russell wide receiver Cederian Morgan and St. Paul’s linebacker Anthony “Tank” Jones.
“Cederian, come on home,” he said. “Tank, come on. Let’s get the class big.”
Crowell, the Aggies’ 5-star running back who reclassified into the Class of 2026, committed to Alabama on Thursday night over Texas, Auburn and Georgia among others.
The On3 Industry Rankings list him as the No. 3 senior recruit in the state and the No. 2 running back in the nation. In Alabama, only Morgan at No. 1 and Jones at No. 2 are ranked ahead of Crowell.
Both are uncommitted at the moment, though On3 has Morgan has a heavy favorite to join Crowell in the Crimson Tide’s class and Jones as a slight favorite.
Crowell rushed for 1,964 yards and 31 touchdowns on 168 carries in 2024 in helping the Aggies to the Class 4A state title. He was one of three finalists for Class 4A Back of the Year, an award won by his teammate, Landon Duckworth.
Kalen DeBoer and Alabama already have another in-state top 10 commit in Gadsden City DB Zyan Gibson.
