The Dallas Mavericks have gone through a whirlwind few months, dating back to February. General manager Nico Harrison made the shocking decision to trade star Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first round pick.

It was deemed one of the worst trades in sports history, with Mavericks fans even going so far as to protesting outside of American Airlines Center. They would get some good news a few months later, as the Mavericks landed the No.1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

After having a 1.8% chance to land the first pick, Dallas came away with the prized possession. Last night, they selected Duke star Cooper Flagg, as he’s now set to create a big three with Davis and Kyrie Irving.
