MVSU cheerleader ejected after confronting Alabama A&M player during game
A cheerleader for Mississippi Valley State was ejected from a game after she walked on to the basketball court Saturday and confronted an Alabama A&M player during the game.
With roughly three minutes left in the game, it appears an Alabama A&M player makes contact with a Mississippi Valley State cheerleader during her routine.
The game went to the other side of the court, but when play returned in front of the Mississippi Valley State cheerleaders, the same walked onto the court after a whistle and proceeded to push junior Dailin Smith.
Security walked across the court to the cheerleader, who grabbed a jacket and was escorted off the court.
“The Alabama A&M coach, he’s fussing,” Caleb Brunson, one member of the broadcast said. “He’s fussing and cussing.”
Alabama State won the game 70-68 on a last-second shot in double overtime by junior guard Messiah Thompson.
The Bulldogs improved to 10-15 overall and 6-6 in league play with the win. The Delta Devils fell to 3-23 and 2-10.
The game was tied 52-all at the end of regulation and 59-all after the first overtime.
Dailin Smith led A&M with 20 points. He was 7-of-11 from the field and 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
Cameron Tucker and Lorenzo Downey (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada) finished with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Tyronn Mosley scored a game-high 21 points against the Bulldogs as he was the leading scorer for the Delta Devils. Terry Collins finished the night with a double-double performance. He scored 13 points for MVSU and collected ten rebounds to keep the Delta Devils in the game against AAMU.
