Starbucks’ latest change may not sit well with cost-conscious customers
If you’re a fan of discounts and buy one, get one specials at Starbucks, here’s some bad news– the coffee is dialing back the deals.
The company announced it would dial back its frequent discounts and promotions, according to reports from TODAY.com and The Wall Street Journal.
The move is part of an overhaul to bring Starbucks closer to its community coffeehouse roots.
Starbucks has offered a series of promotions and deals in its app, but according to The Wall Street Journal, store managers and baristas reported that promotions made it difficult to deliver precise and timely orders.
Now, according to TODAY.com, Starbucks will focus on attracting customers with higher-quality food and beverages. The chain will also bring back a few fan favorites from over the years.
People reports Starbucks’ Raspberry syrup is returning to the coffee chain for a limited time this summer.
“Starbucks will also be bringing back raspberry syrup for a very limited time this July to delight fans, and the company plans to bring more flavor drops in the future,” the coffee chain said in a press release.
“We’re excited that fan-favorite raspberry syrup will return to Starbucks cafes in the US for a limited time in July,” a Starbucks spokesperson later confirmed to PEOPLE in a statement. “We look forward to sharing more details soon.”
