Mother of 2-year-old boy shot in head: ‘I’m in need of a really big help, a blessing’
The mother of a 2-year-old that survived a Mobile County shooting has started a GoFundMe as she continues to fear for “my life and my kids’ lives.”
Kersheta Ross posted the fundraiser seeking financial assistance after her son, Kash, was shot in the head early Wednesday morning.
“I’m in need of a really big help, a blessing from God right now,” Ross said.
“My 2-year-old son was a victim of gun violence. He was struck in the face, and that bullet traveled from his face to the back of his head.”
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that the shooting occurred at 1:02 a.m. in the 3400 block of St. Stephens Road at an apartment complex.
Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch asserted that the shooting was perpetrated by gang members and the target was a teen at the apartment.
No arrests have been made so far in the case.
Ross said she is afraid to go back to her home and is seeking funds to help with hotel expenses, food and clothes as she will be out of work for a long time.
“I no longer want to live where we are living now,” Ross said. “It’s not safe for me or my kids at all…anything will help us right now. We thank you and be blessed.”
