Budget-friendly grocery chain cutting prices up to 33% on 400-plus items
A super-popular grocery chain is slashing prices for the summer as high food costs remain stubbornly in place.
ALDI announced it will cut prices on nearly 25% of its selection – roughly 400 items – across all 2,400 stores. The reduced process will cover items like fresh meat, organic produce and pantry staples.

“Our customers count on ALDI for the lowest prices of any national grocer, every day, and we never take that trust for granted,” said Jason Hart, CEO, ALDI. “While customers may see higher prices at other retailers, we’re working hard to unlock even more value for our shoppers, just in time for summer’s lineup of holidays and gatherings where food takes center stage. It’s another way we’re doubling down on our commitment to help shoppers fill their carts with great products for less.”
The change translates to some $100 million in savings for customers, ALDI said.
The price reduction comes as a recent study shows rising food costs remain a major concern among shoppers. A Pew Research survey showed 62% of U.S. adults said cost was at least a very important factor in determining which foods they buy.
