Donald Trump agrees with Democrat he often ridicules on one major political issue

President Donald Trump put the insulting nickname he has given a Democratic senator aside while saying Wednesday he agrees with her on a pressing political issue.

“I am very pleased to announce that, after all of these years, I agree with Senator Elizabeth Warren on SOMETHING,” Trump posted to his Truth Social account Wenesday afternoon, referring to the Massachusetts senator.

That “something” is a key issue dividing Congress with focus on Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

“The Debt Limit should be entirely scrapped to prevent an Economic catastrophe,” the president’s post continued.

“It is too devastating to be put in the hands of political people that may want to use it despite the horrendous effect it could have on our Country and, indirectly, even the World. As to Senator Warren’s second statement on the $4 Trillion Dollars, I like that also, but it would have to be done over a period of time, as short as possible. Let’s get together, Republican and Democrat, and DO THIS!”

Warren has been one of Trump’s frequent targets of ridicule, calling her “Pocahontas” over her claims of having Native American heritage.

In 2019, Warren publicly apologized after a DNA analysis showed evidence of a tribal ancestor as far as 10 generations back, but the Cherokee Nation joined some other Native Americans in rebuking the senator for attributing tribal membership to genetics. Warren later apologized privately to the Cherokee and had addressed her regret before Monday’s appearance.

Trump’s post included a tweet posted by Warren last week imploring Congress to scrap the debt ceiling.

“Let’s pass a bipartisan bill and get rid of it forever,” she posted May 30.

Warren’s tweet came after Trump endorsed her proposal while addressing reporters.

“I’ll tell you, a certain Senator — Elizabeth Warren — said that she would never, ever allow a default on our debt … and she would like to get rid of the debt ceiling…” Trump said.

“I always agreed with her, that’s always something I agreed with her on,” the president said.
